Compared to land borders, coastal borders are more difficult to monitor, control and protect. Countries such as Turkey, whose coastline is 7816 km, require a large investment in advanced technologies and these technologies. The activities and responsibilities carried out by the coast guard institutions such as enforcement of the law of the seas, protection of national maritime borders, patrol services, combating drug trafficking by sea or beaches, arms smuggling, human trafficking and other illegal commercial activities, combating marine pollution require a great infrastructure to be built up. The research and studies required for the determination and proper use of appropriate technologies to be used in the activities of the coast guard institutions can only be realized with an undeniable amount of effort.
